Take the Biosecurity Trail, a 1.2km accessible trail at the Auckland Botanic Gardens, and help protect our taonga (treasures)!

Off shore security - check your bags

  • <p>Off shore security - check your bags for any insects before you travel. Many insects could hide in the crevices of your bags. If you find anything in your bag when you arrive in New Zealand, capture it and report it to Biosecurity New Zealand’s Pest Hotline, call 0800 80 99 66</p>

If you’re heading into the forest, clean your shoes

  • <p>If you’re heading into the forest, clean your shoes before and after each<br>visit. Keep to the tracks and help stop the spread of diseases. Clean shoes before you arrive in New Zealand, so that you don’t carry soil<br>or unwanted seeds into the country.</p>

Declare plant, fruit or animal products

  • <p>Make sure you declare any plant, fruit or animal products you have when you first arrive in the country. If you have plant or animal products with you that you no longer want, place them in the amnesty bins at the airport when you first arrive. If unsure, declare it. For details see biosecurity.govt.nz/declare</p>
